Positioner

Positioner,Welding positioner, for pipe, tank, easy to eperate and low cost.
Positioner generally consist of a table which can be rotated manually or be power driven at variable speed for automatic welding.
The tables can also be manually tilted through 135 degrees from the horizontal or again power tilted through 135 degrees to ensure that the work piece is placed in the optimum position for down hand gravity welding.
Some
welding positioners
such as "rotilting" or "cradle" type positioners allow the work piece to be tilted through 360 degrees for the special applications which they have been designed to assist the fabricator.
Welding positioners are built in all capacities from a few kilograms up to 500 tonnes - the larger positioners being used predominately in the conventional and nuclear power industries.
The tables can vary in diameter from a few millimeters up to 12 metres, especially by incorporating cruciform arms mounted off the table.
Table drives are nominally equipped with variable speed drive to work with the automatic welding heads mounted on column and boom manipulators.
The tables are normally all equipped with earthing arrangements to protect the drive and bearings from possible damage by yhr electrical current from the welding process.
Larger capacity positioners are all equipped with slewing rings with integral gear to support the table with its load and to mount the rotation drive in the best position.
Positioners can also be equipped with hydraulic cylinders which are used to elevate both the table up and down and the tilting of table where the fabricator wishes for more flexibility in the handling of work pieces.
Nowadays positioners are seen in all fabrication work shops to assist the operator in handling fabrications large or small for semi automatic or automatic welding in the safest possible mode which is obviously very important given the health and safety constraints we all now work within.
We have a wealth of experience with welding positioner of all sizes.
Shown below is a heavy duty welding positioner but our range is from 500 kgs up to 250 tons for the nuclear power industry.
